Light in Babylon (TR) *live*
An oriental band if ever there were one. That said, “no fake orientalism”, Songlines has observed. At its core Light in Babylon is an Israeli singer with Iranian roots, a French guitarist and a Turkish santur player. Deriving their name from the Genesis tale of the Tower of Babylon, they began life in 2010 on the streets of Istanbul. Since then they have conquered concert stages worldwide. Following the vision that music is the only universal language capable of bringing peace to all people, their music defies linguistic and tidyminded cultural delineations.
